I'm considering purchasing a property that is encumbered by an IRS lien. I do not want to wait the 120 days that the IRS has after the sale, so I am considering paying off the debt and simply absorbing the expense into my cost structure.
I would assme that if I pay off the IRS thaose funds would be unrecoverable.
Are there any "gotchas" I ought to be aware of with this approach?
