I bought an reo last October and paid cash remodeled it and now have a closing date on the 30th October 2009 the title company called today and informed me that i have a judgment against me for $16,000.00 plus 8 years interest. My Question is what can i do to avoid paying the judgment and still sell the house?

Bob,

Got your message today. What kind of judgment is it? I think I know this answer but I want to check. Is this property your homestead or investment property?

If its a investment property, you need to negotiate with the judgment holder (offer less for quick cash). If its your homestead, then you can file to get it removed.

Who is the judgment holder? You might see if they will give a partial release for a grand or two.

it is my investment property and the judgment is a personal judgment its really a
judgment against my company but being a sole provider it falls on me But because this guy thta has a judgement against me is a pretty big commercial real estate guy he isnt going to settle for to much less and then he might try to enfoece the judgement again now that he knows i have a little more to take
